Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Ethan Nwaneri on a season-long loan.

The German club are set to sign the forward, 19, after losing new signing Giannis Konstantelias to a significant knee injury sustained during Saturday's 2-0 win over Hamburg.

Nwaneri – who Dortmund tried to sign last summer – is now expected to arrive in Germany for a medical and to complete the move before the Bundesliga transfer deadline at 19:00 BST.

The Gunners academy graduate has attracted interest from clubs across the Premier League and Europe during this summer's window.

With manager Mikel Arteta having an abundance of attacking talent, Nwaneri would probably have had limited opportunities at Arsenal this season, and there is a sense at Emirates Stadium that the teenager would benefit from increased game time at another club.
